How much mulch do I need?
Mulch rarely spreads as far as we imagine it should. The existing texture of the flower bed and the presence or absence of old mulch greatly effects coverage. Spreading a 2-cubic/ft bag to an average of 2-inch thickness may cover approximately 8 – 10-sqft. Coverage will decrease on a bare dirt flower bed.
Weeds?
Spreading does not include weed removal. We recommend that you prepare your flower beds for mulch before you receive delivery. If not physically removed, we recommend applying an herbicide to existing weeds and/or a pre-emergent herbicide (such as Preen Weed Preventer) to prevent future weeds.
